I decided to start saving wine bottles for decor and vases.
I'm a bartender so collecting an assortment of wine bottles was easy to do! After a week I have plenty.
Taking the labels off is the biggest PAIN
I'm thinking about using interesting looking liquor bottles as well to give a variety of shapes and sizes.
Instead of buying mason jars I'm asking relatives to save their jars (applesauce, tomatoe sauce, pickle jars etc)
I collected candle holders, containers, and trinkets from Goodwill and yardsales.
I find things at the Dollar Tree that work well, but sometimes that's more expensive. For example the white candles you see in the picture, I found on the clearance aisle at Michael's. 5 candles for $1. SO I got 25 candles for $5. Oh Yeah! That would have been $25 from the Dollar Tree. I'm always looking for deals and take advantage of them when I see one.
I did research on artificial grapes....and they are super expensive. I even toyed with the idea of real grapes, but in the end I decided to go with 2 cases (48 bunches in one case) of assorted colors from the DollarTree. That way I can have a 4 per table. It's free shipping with in store pick-up.
Having grapes on the table is something I really wanted to pull off the Tuscan theme. So I splurged for a total of $102. I am satisfied with my purchase. Also very grateful when I went into the store for pick-up they let me exchange the ugly bright red grapes (not shown) for purple and green to match my theme.
Since I saved so much money on buying fake flowers I don't feel as bad spending a hundred on grapes. Maybe I can resell/regift later.
Playing with the arrangement of the centerpieces is super fun!
